Thank you for continuing to support the club and booking in online. The club is now back racing almost every week until October, there has been a lot of improvements done by the members over the winter. At the last AGM, the members decided to not affiliate the club to the BRCA, instead we have sourced our own insurance (see attachment), no two insurances are the same, but we believe this has significant improvements over what was supplied previously by the China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co Ltd, but limited now to just our club events. If you need insurance for use out with the club events you need to arrange that yourself. Everyone participating in our events will be covered by the club insurance. This is confirmation that you have an entry for this meeting, if you have still to pay, please do this via PayPal (friends & family to prevent fees being deducted) to treasurer@ddrcc.co.uk or bank transfer before Saturday 6pm please, gives me time to make up heats and post them online. Prices are shown further down this email. Heats will be posted at https://www.myrcm.ch/myrcm/main?dId[O]=52582&pLa=en&hId[1]=org just select the event, you can also choose to have results emailed to you after each of your races, either select this option in your MyRCM profile, or let race control know. WHY WE ARE HERE Let's have some fun on one of the best tracks in the UK, this is the sport we all enjoy, that's why we are here, follow the rules so that everyone enjoys the day without incident. Club Handbook The club has an electronic copy of it's handbook, it's important that you read that and comply so that you meet the insurance conditions, and keep everyone safe. The handbook is available either by signing up for the club communication meeting, or by emailing secretary@ddrcc.co.uk THE RULES All racers should attend drivers briefing prior to racing starting, if you miss it, please read the printed version on the club notice board. LiPo chrging, maximum of 1 LiPo charging per bag/box, must be properly sealed Where possible, charge on shelf to ensure flames go up and not bounce out from under a shelf. All container doors must be open to give access to all sand buckets, if you're in a container open the doors, don't leave it to someone else. Races are 5 minutes in length, 4 minutes between each, race schedule is available on https://tinyurl.com/2p8d8vdv via reports. Please note we will now run 4 rounds plus a final. During the race prior to your own, please place your car on the dark astro in the start area, we will not be allowing cars to be thrown onto the track anywhere else. This is to ensure nobody is injured. Entry to the rostrum is controlled, please gather the race prior to your own at the base of the black stairs, you can then go up to the rostrum once the racers from previous racers have left. Do NOT leave the rostrum until race is announced as over. Talking is allowed on rostrum, agreeing where to pass etc, but NO swearing or aggressive/abusive language. If a marshal hasn't seen your car crash (assuming it's now stationary) make them aware, but no abuse. Allow faster cars to pass in heats (the timing software will assist with this), everyone is trying to get their best qualifying runs. In finals you can defend your line whilst racing for position. If you cause another car to crash please wait and allow them to pass you. The fence is around the track for safety, do NOT climb over it please. Tyre choice for 2024 is from the below: Schumacher or Ballistic Buggy minispike as per last year. Schumacher Mezzo or ProLine Pyramid. The tyre selection above keeps us in line with the SORC series, and we will review the choices at the end of the year once we get feedback from everyone. Tyres are available trackside from all club meetings. Opening Gates will open for 08:30am, driver briefing will be 08:40am (printed version on notice board), open practice from 08:45am until 09:45am , heat 1 qualifying will be 10:00am, this will consist of 4 rounds, followed by finals. MARSHALLING The second major change for this season is that we want marshals to remain at the posts until the 45 second announcement is made, that way all cars are stationary off the track, and it is safer for marshals to come on and off the track. Note that the marshal at the start area will need to line up the cars once they have done their installation laps. Marshal the heat after your own. Please note that your own personnel Hi viz vest/top must be worn the entire time. Black hi viz vests are not suitable, neither is bright clothing, you need the addition hi viz vest/top even if it's the same colour as your wearing. We have a small supply of these at the club if required. Finally, it's optional if you need to bring non disposable gloves for marshalling, gardening gloves or the like are perfect. If you are in the next race, or have a junior in next race try and swap with someone else so you are on the outside of the track so you can exit safely earlier. YOUR Entry Please check your car details for each entry below, we want to have minimal changes at the meeting. Please ensure your transponder is correct. Payments are non refundable/transferable after online booking closes, it's a bit like a cinema ticket or BRCA meeting. If you need to pay, prices are below (race as many cars per day for the price): Junior £5 Members £10.00 Family (Parent & all children in family) £17.50 non member £12:50 (Juniors are automatically club members, adults are £30 per season) Please pay via PayPal to treasurer@ddrcc.co.uk Pitting The pits are fully booked this year, we usually have some spare tables at a club meeting, but these need to be requested and paid with your race entry, club meetings are £3, open meetings (full day) are £5. We have black bags available at the club, just ask for a bag.
